Ugandan Success Story. Trip 42 Update 3

Beatrice, mother of 6 including 4 young ones, homeless, abandoned by her husband for a girl in her teens, no skills or education, no English, in shock she stared at the floor for days. That was the low point 10 years ago that Beatrice worked from and was raised up. Beatrice just moved into a brick house that she built on land she bought from working at CRM for 10 years as the main cook and matron, saving diligently. She is a Believer, joyful hard worker, great cook, loves to learn new recipes, and is a loving pleasant person. Beatrice loves MSM visitors…We have to go find her when we leave from a trip, to say goodbye, because she will be crying somewhere off by herself.

Greg and Beatrice

Beatrice’s New House

Her husband in 2014, Moses Chukka, was one of the volunteer workers that Mission Servants Ministries (MSM) began working with in the early days of Child Redeemed Mission Home (CRM), then called Stream of Hope Home (SOH). He and his family were living so poorly while he was working to serve SOH and the 46 kids there, that I suggested they move into SOH. I didn’t dream that he had a teenaged girlfriend in the community and would abandon his family almost immediately.

We didn’t know Beatrice and it was difficult to communicate but it was decided that we would love and lift her up, welcome her children to the home, teach her how to be a cook and matron, and let Jesus heal her. Over time the cook and matrons that she assisted left and Beatrice assumed sole responsibility and does really well. Her children are believers, grateful, and love school. One of the older ones is married and the youngest is in grade 5, while two others are in High School.

In the African culture, she was a throw away. Her children were essentially unsupported orphans. Not in the eyes of Jesus and his children at CRM, she is family, a valuable CRM staff member, and a beautiful workpiece of Christ. Praise Him!

Outreach to a Widow. Trip 42 Update 2

The Bwase Redeemed Church (BRC) which is the home church at Child Redeemed Mission Home (CRM) is a loving outreach minded group of Christ lovers. They are loving on a Widow who is caring for 4 small grandchildren, living in a tiny rented room, scraping by for food. She was identified as one of the very needy in the church community that they are targeting for help and arranged to bring her some blankets, soap, and beans. Greg visited and found all 5 had been sleeping on the ground and had nothing.

The church is looking for someone to donate a tiny piece of land that they can build this woman a small house. Greg had an idea to give this woman a spare bunk bed and mattresses from the CRM guest house. They can be warm at least at night now. The BRC has a habit of caring for widows. God be praised. James 1:27.

Trip 42 to Uganda Update 1

Greg and Scott arrived at Child Redeemed Mission Home (CRM) on Sunday, joined the church service there at Bwase Redeemed Church (BRC), and Scott gave a message. They had the privilege of witnessing God’s awesome grace as a Chief Witch named Halid in the area, professed faith in Jesus Christ. What a joyful miracle to see unfold. Praise God!

From Pastor Emma……This man has been a chief magician in Balawoli sub county but on Sunday he came to our church and confessed our Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. He went ahead and set fire on his shrines.
Where he is standing were the burnt shrines.
Now he is asking God to strengthen him in salvation, give him a new job, and to heal him from diabetes.
Please join me in prayer as we pray for him.
Am so much encouraged in the Lord for his salvation.

Trip to Uganda. MSM #42

Tomorrow, 9 August, Greg and Scott leave for a week in Uganda to visit the Mission Servants Ministry supported ministries and organizations near Kamuli, Uganda….Child Redeemed Mission Home (CRM), Promise Primary School (PPS), Rock View Primary School (RVPS) as well as other projects, organizations, and initiatives that are being served to honor Christ.

I will post and update regularly during this trip but in summary, improving education for the CRM kids, the 900 children at PPS and RVPS, and the many early class children in the community of Bwase (Surrounding the CRM Home). Among several items, a new Kitchen project will break ground at RVPS and playgrounds improved, a back-up power system repaired at PPS, a home school program for challenged CRM learners will be evaluated, and a proposed new early education school is being discussed with the Bwase community. Education is the key to a positive future, especially with a healthy, nurturing, and Christian foundation.

Please pray for the protection and guidance of Greg and Scott and the meetings to be held this coming week.
