August Trip to Kenya and Uganda… Update 3

The frequently unreliable electric power service has left us without power for over a day now.  The main problem with that is we run out of water because our well pump is electric.  Not only do the children not get treated water to drink and cook with, neither does the community that has relied on LSH supply.  I bought a 5000 watt generator and hooked it in.  This will make the LSH home much more independent of outside issues.  We have solar power for lights, our own water, and not we can generate power in emergencies.

Austine is one of the older boys.  He has been attending a Polytechnic institute to learn auto mechanics.  He assisted a mechanic repairing the brakes on our vehicle and was invited to apprentice with him during school breaks.

August Trip to Kenya and Uganda

John and I leave on Wednesday to begin what is the 15th separate trip to support Mission Servants Ministry’s orphanages in Kenya and Uganda since 2006.  John and I will spend 2 weeks at Lord’s Servant Home in Kenya then travel to Stream of Hope Home in Uganda, meeting Kathy and Darlene.  They are making their first trip but were instrumental in the founding of MSM’s involvement with SOH.

I have not been to LSH in over a year.  I missed these guys.  We have lots of projects to complete and organizational plans to implement.  Please keep looking out for my blog posts and keep us in your prayers.
