Groundbreaking for the new Kitchen/Dining Hall

We are excited about the next step in the building process of the Stream of Hope Home in Uganda…a new Kitchen and Dining Hall which will also function as a Church building and community meeting place.  It is a 35′ x 70′ structure, the same as we built at the Lord’s Servants Home in Kenya.  We signed the construction contract during our trip there a month ago and the foundation is set.  We expect completion by July.

SOH Uganda Update New Boys Dorm nearly finished

Lacking only some internal painting…the boys will be moving in very shortly.  (The outside painting is finished but not shown in these photos).  The rooms for six boys each has louvered glass windows, bug screens, and ceilings.  This will be Heaven on earth for the boys who may have been on the streets and have been staying in a rented warehouse until this time.  Praise God.

The SOH Girls have a new home!!!!

Can you imagine finally moving to a place that you can call home for the 1st time. This place is secure for them and owned by the ministry. The 20 girls at SOH Home are very excited.  So far we have built a latrine and finished the house but just watch what God does over the next few years on these 3 acres!!!

SOH Project #1…Girls Latrine and Washhouse

The land purchase was finalized a little over a week ago and we are rapidly progressing to be able to move the 26 girls to the site.  This will cut out over 4 miles of walking each day and be a huge blessing especially for the girls that have illnesses.

The 1st project to complete before the move is possible is a latrine.  We are constructing a 5 door building with 3 latrines and 2 wash rooms.

Kids are Kids…

Friends at Basic Concepts, Inc., a manufacturer of spill containment systems, made us the heavy-duty welded collapsible vinyl wading pool.  We brought it to Kenya in August but it was until last month that the weather was good for them to use it.  Most of them have only stood in a bin of water to wash, never enough to swim or play in.  I can just picture the frenzy going on.  I am also humbled by the pure water that they now have in abundance because of the well that God provided in January.
