Just in case you always wondered how school buildings are constructed in Uganda, I am blogging photos of the various steps. In this update….the steel reinforced concrete “Ring Beam” and pillars have been cast at the door opening height on all walls. This supports the balance of the walls and the roof. Bricks have been laid on top of the Ring Beam to full height. The door and window frames are also being constructed. See the photos. The next step is the roof trusses.
The 4 room school building addition at Promise Primary is progressing on. The walls have been laid to the height which defines the top of the doors and windows. The next step is pouring the steel reinforced concrete “Ring Beam” layer that supports the weight of the walls above this point. The pillars for the porch overhang are also being poured. All of the balance of needed materials have been funded and are being accumulated on site. This must be very exciting for the kids currently in school and community. It is a prayer being answered before their eyes. Here are some photos….
Greg and I returned recently from visiting the Lord’s Servants Home (LSH) in Kitale, Kenya. It has been some time since our last visit. Our goals on this trip were to assess the effectiveness of the management, condition of the home, school, and children, and to fortify communications and objectives for the education and future of the Children that MSM has sponsored over the years. We found everyone doing well and preparing to start Term III of this school year. I specifically enjoyed meeting with the older kids who have finished High School and was encouraged with their progress….many of them are in college courses like Kenny in Nursing School and some working jobs, including Brenda who is now a teacher at the school. Others are in the planning stages of taking steps toward their future education and profession.
The Lord’s Ministries (TLM) is the Kenyan ministry that operates the LSH and school. Since our last visit, TLM has changed staff, assumed responsibility for operation funding, and has refocused on ministry objectives. This was all evident and positive.

The partnership status with TLM involves that MSM provide for school fees and school supplies while TLM provide all other support and funding such as salaries, food, medical, and utilities. This trip was an unannounced visit and we verified that TLM has been acting in good faith to support the children in a healthy manner, operating the home and school as well as possible, and using the infrastructure in a responsible way. MSM will continue with this partnership arrangement which focuses on…..
We supported these objectives on this trip by paying school fees, shopping for school supplies the older kids need, buying new mattresses and bedding, and making plans for an infrastructure and spiritual support trip in 2019.
One rewarding thing about being in the “Working for God” business is networking with and meeting such a variety of people that are working out their heart’s calling and serving in their own way. Trip 22 in June was Robyn and her family of 6 kids, visiting and serving in the country of their two adopted children. This trip includes 3 awesome young people representing Love Exchange United. Ve’Neesha, Mariah, and Nathanael arrived in mid July. Ve’Neesha will be leaving in early October, while the other two spent 6 weeks there.
Serving on a mission trip is about loving others, putting their needs out front, and showing that love in a way unique to how God has blessed you and formed your heart. Mariah just loved the children and enriched their lives with her fellowship. The same for Ve’Neesha, founder of Love Exchange United, with the addition that she has a heart for the Children in a nearby village of Kuslwe and the Rock View Primary School….lobbying for their needs and education and provided the purchase of dozens of mattresses, school supplies, and fees. Nathanael shared his gift of music and worship with the kids, schools, and communities and helped provide some musical instruments…guitar and keyboard for CRM. He and the kids wrote and recorded a number of original songs. These folks have shared their greatest gifts, their love, talents, and time. Thank you.
The Promise Primary School is a private school founded in 2016 in the village of Nabwigulu, near Kamuli, Uganda. Their goal is to provide a quality education in the community. Mission Servants has been assisting Promise Primary since last year with the goal of helping them acquire the infrastructure to allow them to operate financially independently in 2019.
MSM assisted them with building a latrine in 2017 and have launched a project to build a 4 room school building addition last month. This building in addition to their existing structures will provide…..
Funding has been provided by generous donations to MSM and all materials and labor are provided from the local community. Construction will be complete in time for the 2019 school year opening in January. See the progress so far in photos…
